It is quite frightening Roobz, when I visited we were told by the tour company to believe that every bit of water could house a Croc & during the Holiday the tour guide was proved mostly correct. The natives are used to it but it freaked me. It must have been devastating to witness the loss of His son. Very sad.

It is devastating, but beggars belief that they allowed a two year old to paddle there. Clear signs up saying no bathing. Something is going badly wrong with parenting skills In the USA at the moment, first the little boy and the gorilla, and now this poor little boy.

Sorry to hear that the wee boy lost his life. . But .The animal was only doing what it does naturally.

The question has to be asked though. Why did the parents allow the child anywhere near the water. The safety of that child was their responsibility ---They failed as parents !!!. And due to that failure a child is now dead.

Unfortunately it is not only in the States. Just look on our own doorstep, the Mc Canns for instance, also the British family in Spain last year, Father is in the bar swilling beer down his gullet and Mother is fast asleep on the sunbed by the hotel complex pool until someone rushed to her and woke her up and said is that your child upside down in the pool (3 year old now dead) Is this what we Brits call parenting? I have every sympathy for the child and non for the so called parents whatsoever if they were proper parents the children would still be alive, RIP children.

Tragic accidents can happen anywhere to anybody, and there's always a very big IF ! but yes so many now involving children has been down to lack of care,

only a few days ago police had to brake into a car to free a young child that was locked in in sky high temperatures she survived but only just.  Again lack of care by parents who I believe left her asleep while they went shopping {#emotions_dlg.yell}

Our plan was to take the Grandkids to Florida to celebrate our 60th birthday in 3 years time, now starting to think of some were else. So sad

Why is it so sad? I know that there are only in excess of 20+ million people living in Florida and that excludes tourists and visitors which pump up that figure a great deal and they are not going to abandon Florida any time soon. If parents or guardians look after children which is what they are supposed to do amongst other things what is the problem? Dangers lurk everywhere including outside your own front door regarding traffic but to name one of many dangers.

I think Sell was expressing his sadness regarding the poor little boy, not that he is having a rethink regarding visiting Florida.Happy

In reality you are far more likely to die on one of the rides, or from a car crash or plane crash or terrorist event or lightning or sink holes or armed robbery ....the list goes on.Surprised (no need to change your plans over that)

Florida is full of Aligators (not Crocs), you see them all over.

Ther way you can tell the difference is:

Aligators will see you later, where as Crocodiles will see you in a while!
