Yes Oneputt can only echo your comments. I have a personal interest as you know, delighted to say safe and wellbuts hundreds if km away on the north island.

Another big one Monday lunchtime, local news photos show the damage. 

It is a country that has full contingency plans but they've had problems with phone lines and issues with 111 (999 here) best laid plans..... They are still struggling after the last big  Christchurch one, lots of land very unstable (liqiudfaction) so can't build on it.

I've family in N Z -----My heart goes out to all in that beautiful country.. -- Must be worrying for all concerned.
