Desert Island Discs

We spend a lot of time driving up and down the M5/A30 between our home in Wiltshire and our van in Cornwall. I like to mix different sets of songs for each journey. I started thinking about what my “Desert Island Discs” choice would be – the 8 songs I’d most like to have if ever stranded on that mythical island. Here is my choice -

Blue – Joni Mitchell

Reason To Believe –Rod Stewart (great version of the Tim Hardin song)

Song For Whoever – Beautiful South

Moondance – Van Morrison

No Woman No Cry – Bob Marley

Echoes – Pink Floyd

Haitian Divorce – Steely Dan

Spanish Boots of Spanish Leather – Dervish (great version of the Bob Dylan song given a traditional Irish twist)

Riders On The Storm – The Doors

Patience Of Angels – Eddi Reader

Now I know that’s cheating and you’re only allowed 8 but to be honest I found it hard to whittle it down to those 10. Tomorrow I might come up with a quite different list, but I think Joni Mitchell would always top it.

Does anyone else have a “Desert Island Discs “ selection?
