As we're currently stuck in another lockdown we wanted to know your top recommendations for TV shows, podcasts, bloggers, vloggers or anything you're enjoying right now to keep you inspired for travel and help you plan for when we can go out touring again.

We would love to hear your recommendations below. smile

Hadrian’s Wall. There are lots of films and TV programmes that have used The Wall for location shoots. Last time we were at Steel Rigg, we watched filming of a battle scene, lots of shaggy ponies, actors in skins and body paint. Never did get to find out what they were filming🤔

Kilchurn Castle, on Loch Awe, is another stunning location. We watched filming of an advert for a new car launch years ago. A VW something or other....

Bamburgh Castle.....always looks like it is Computer Generated, has to be the most instantly recognisable Castle in England.

You can’t move in Cornwall for falling over filming locations, particularly Poldark, both series. Charlestown Harbour hardly has a break from being used as a set location for something or other. Eden Centre for Die Another Day, James Bond.  Lanhydrock House had an exhibition about filming of Twelfth Night last time we visited.

Dubrovnik is on my bucket list.........GOT.

Malham Cove, the limestone pavement over the top, another extensively used location.

Big House? They don’t come bigger (larger) than Wentworth Woodhouse in South Yorkshire. used in Wives and Daughters, Mr Turner, lots of other films.

North York Moors, you can hardly move up there some Summers for film crews. Harry Potter, Secret Garden, Heartbeat etc.....

Bradley and Barney Walsh Breaking Dad, a good entertaining travel programe. Wouldn't want to do the stunts but love to be able to do the USA tours, especially in a big RV. Dream on! The new series is about travel in Europe.

All the TV walking programmes spark my interest, Winter Walks, Walks Around Britain, Yorkshire Walks, River Walks, Lost Railway Walks, to name a few. smile

Another type of broadcast to inspire a UK visit  is  BBC 4 Life of a Mountain, a Year on Helvellyn  LINK (if you've ever wondered where those low flying planes skimming through Cumbria come from you can join in the camera flight...wink)

Very good lighthearted programme and some wonderful tasks.

I'm sure I would have attempted the climbing wall one but the bungee jump would have been too much.  laughing

I enjoyed all of Michael Portillo's Great Railway Journeys, especially Spain and North America.

I've also loved the Hairy Bikers culinary trips to Europe and Rick Stein's France (I really loved that as regional cooking is a great draw to some places.)

Oh dear, I'm a good armchair traveller! wink

The only GOT location we have visited is Los Barruecos outside Cacares Spain. We visited it twice for the bird life and natural features before we discovered the GOT connection.

Mean to visit the town of Caceres next time we get down there too as there was season 8 filming done in the old town.

There weren't any Dragons when we visited thoughsmile
