Happy Valley

Someone has surely got to mention the final series on Happy Valley? The final series ended on Sunday night with a slightly extended final episode. I shall try and be careful what I say just in case some are waiting to watch. It certainly ended in a way not many would have predicted. Sarah Lancashire, as Happy Valley's no-nonsense police Sergeant Catherine Cawood has certainly been a tour de force as have other cast members. James Norton has been evil, so removed from Grantchester! Rhys Connah has played Ryan all through the series from a really young boy to a teen studying for his GCSE's. Only perhaps slight disappointment was that there were a couple of side stories which initially played a fuller part in the story line that at the end just left hanging although it seems that CID was on the case.

A very excellent series but for anyone who has not seen it before they need to watch series one first before watching the final series 3. If you haven't the time, series two can be skipped with out detrement to the storyline.

Critics have all given the series (and in particular the final episode) a massive thumbs up 👍 We loved it but for those who’ve not, I’m sayin’ nowt else.

I've not seen any of the series so I can only comment on the basis of the trailers. The valley would seem to be anything but happy.

You are missing a treat if you like gritty drama.  As Peedee suggests you probably need to see at least the first series for it all to fall into place. It's all set in and around Hebden Bridge which is another bonus.

when they were supposed to be in a café in Leeds the other week, they were in fact in the centre of Bolton by the Market Hall

Happens a lot, locations are all over the place to suit filming

In the opening scene of Quantum of Solace JB turns off the road on the West side of Lake Garda onto the Strada Della Forra, which climbs quite steeply.

He then turns into a quarry chased by the bad guys-the quarry is nearly 200 miles away near La Spezia!!

The scenery at Hebden is probably better though!
