We have just finished watching both series of this riveting crime drama, set in Edinburgh. Excellent story lines, very different, and superb acting from some of Scotland’s finest actors, including Dougray Scott and Ken Stott.

Be warned, this is Irvine (Trainspotting) Welsh writing, so it pulls no punches, either language, discrimination or violence and drug/drink culture, and we did find it helpful to use subtitles as it’s strong on both Scottish dialect and terminology, but one of the best TV series we have enjoyed for a good while. No spoilers, hard to guess where it might go, so it keeps you wanting to watch more.

ITV X for anyone interested in catching up.
