For anyone who is a fan of the Jack Reacher books we binged watched the new tv series yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's on Amazon prime and the main actor, Alan Ritchson, is a much better fit all round for Reacher than Tom Cruise. There are some clips on youtube as well.

I believe it is the most watched series ever to be aired on Prime and we enjoyed it too. Agree 100% re comments about Alan Ritchson

Watched the series over two nights and found it very enjoyable.
I was curious how they would get the feel of the books but being so many episodes gave time to get a level of detail not possible in 2 hour film.

As said, it jarred to see Tom Cruise in the role if you had read the books.

Currently reading “Personal” and, as ever, the level of detail and humour are very entertaining.

TW - yes it's good to know that the baddies will always come to a sticky end no matter what.

NTH - yes there's lots of humour in the books too, the line that made me laugh the most in this one was 'I know the way to the hospital'

ET - yes although the Tom Cruise version was enjoyable to watch he just wasn't what most fans visualised when they imagined Reacher from the descriptions in the books, which is why I believe they had to choose a new Reacher.

A&J yes got that for Christmas and as usual I couldn't put it down.

My favourite book is Night School, the plot in that one is simply fantastic and how Lee Childs thought that one up is amazing. I do prefer slightly the books where he's still in the army for some reason.

I think Reacher would make a good club site warden. Imagine him confronting those that didn't park to the peg? This is my campsite and you didn't ask permission, I'll count to three, one... two (too late) smile

I wonder if JollyKernow went for an audition for the part?😁😂

No it was not - far from it.

The only thing that upsets me is your continued knocking of anti racism and similar issues. This implies you favour racism and similar disgusting stances even to the point of suggesting the recipients of these attitudes are obnoxious.

Leave it be now for the sake of the thread.
