We used to live not far from where "Phil Archer" lived in real life and when the Royal Agricultural show took place at Stoneleigh there was always an Archers tent with recording sessions. I saw a lot of the actors who took part. But the strangest one was a play that Brian and his real life wife did in Inverness. Confusing or what. wink I am a great radio fan so I can remember all the old programmes (well nearly all laughing)

Read the other day that the actor playing Joe Grundy had died. Is it Joe? Not sure. Used to listen to it a long time ago and did in fact have a dog called Clarrie at one time. Haven't listened in for the last 25 years.

Yes it was the actor who played Joe, aged 88 I think. Sounds like the cast where very fond of him. They certainly stay a long time with the programme.
