Has anyone else seen this excellent film yet? It is based on Eric Lomax's book telling of his capture by the Japanese at the fall of Singapore in the second world war and his brutal treatment during the building of the Burma railway. Then goes on to show his later meeting and reconciliation with one of his captors. It is a remarkable film with another fine performance by Colin Firth and also Jeremy Irvine who plays Lomax during the war itself is very good. It made me realise how little I actually know about the details of the war in Asia. It made me want to read the book and find out more. if you get a chance to go and see it, do - you won't be disappointed.
