We have just finished watching The Thames at Night with (Sir) Tony Robinson on Channel 5. https://www.channel5.com/show/the-thames-at-night-with-tony-robinson/season-1 Really interesting series with some lovely photography. London from the River Thames is magnificent, even more so at night.

Posted on 20/12/2021 09:27 by DavidKlyneAll the things he did were contrived to a greater or lesser extent ( as they are in most of this type of programme) but that was surely not the point, all he was doing was illustrating many of the jobs that go unnoticed when we are all in bed? For the many uninitiated those little segments are used to inform the viewer what actually happens. To me the main enjoyment of the programmes where the wonderful night time vistas of a beautiful City.

+1👍🏻, if he walked around alluding to what is going around him he’d be called out as boring & uninventive. He’ll be forever in my mind for opening up digging in dirt & making it interesting. Geez that time team opened my eyes to our rich History in a big & good way.
