Just saw that Ralph Waite who played John Walton (the father) has died aged 85.
Whenever I think of The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie I am reminded of coming home from school in the '70s with my Mum in the kitchen, the gas fire on and the settee "drawn up". Happy memories.
