Eating Local

We live in an area called the black country, which is in the west midlands. There are certain things to eat that I believe were started in our area many years ago. things like faggots and also pork scratchings, but a few miles down the M6 at birmingham is were the Balti meals started in the 70s, we also have batterd chips which you don't see many other places, so what do you have in your area, that is local or started near you.
