Farm Shops

Any recommendations in parts of the country some of us might be visiting? I can recommend two in Somerset, just off the A3303 near the South Petherton roundabout. The Trading Post and Bower Hinton Farm Shop. Both have coffee shops (one in an old railway carriage) So also quite useful if you've got a motorhome and want a break, parking a bit tricky with a caravan. But if you're staying in the area a good alternative to supermarkets. smile

Washing Pool farm near Bridport.  Lovely produce and a wide variety.  Downsides (IMHO) are it features in Broadchurch and the cafe / restaurant is rubbish despite having access to all the lovely things from the shop.

We stayed at a cl site near this farm shop and used it many times , we also used the cafe and found it very pleasant . beautiful part of the country will have to go back in our new caravan.

Very famous throughout Yorkshire DK, it’s on the Great Yorkshire Showground, close to Harrogate Pavilions. Queues out the door every day for the cafe. We know it well,๐Ÿ˜

Yes we did have to wait but fortunately not too long, we had some visitors so we took them to lunch there. We had been warned the day before that it could be busy. Contrast today, brilliant sunshine and the outside section open but we had been to Bettys in Harrogate today.

Didn’t know you were in area DK, you seem to have dropped for some nice weather. Never been in Betty’s, but has a good reputation. Not sure if you have been, but Ripley is not far away. Interesting Estate village, got a very nice ice cream shop. Have a nice time๐Ÿ˜€

Cycling past the farm shop at Knitsley, near Consett in County Durham, we decided to stop for a coffee as they had multiple outdoor picnic benches and an outdoor kiosk.

We ventured into the actual farm shop and were impressed by the produce on display. One to return to when not cycling.

Open Tuesday to Saturday (usually Sunday as well but closed at present). They serve various hot meals from the kiosk and judging by the amount of cars in the car park had a lot of regular customers.

Excellent sanitation station for C19. A hand gel or soap and a hot water tap and a hand drier, all outside.

If you’re touring the Cotswolds Old Farm (near Moreton-in-Marsh) has a great little farm shop with products from meat reared on the farm. Sausages and lamb burgers are yum!

Old Farm is also a CS.
