I use something very similar.  I have used the same spoon to measure out the coffee of my choice into my jug for about the last 10 years.  It works very well.

Me too Boff, but if you want espresso, lungo, cortado or similar that jug just doesn't cut it!

Given the asking price, if I was interested, I would buy and try

I assume they must be smaller than the normal pods, otherwise the cutters that poke holes in them would engage and damage them. So it might be difficult to get enough in if you like strong coffee. However, for me, they just defeat the whole object of the machine. To be clean, quick and convenient. Personally if I want to use freshly ground coffee for an expresso, I will use the little machine I have had for years.

We've been using something similar for years but miles bigger for a black filtered coffee. Merely stick over the mug(not dainty little cup) and pour enough boiling water over. We bought one when we had a much smaller van and space was at a premium.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a strong espresso, but it's over very quickly whilst I can savour an Americano. Espresso reserved for France or Italy.
