I Remember When

Remember the 'Scammel' artic' cabs ,with the greased forks at back...

And I remember my 'boxed ears' for getting that grease on my trousers 

Pulling the lever in the cab ,to drop the trailer .

I remember playing Snobs

Ha'penny toffee cakes from the paper shop on the way to school.

When Marathon meant a chocolate bar.

When 'Marathon/Wagon wheels/Mars bars etc were ALL a lot BIGGER .

When bacon tasted like...bacon.

I remember when - the Alex had to apply for re-election { regularly  }

I remember when tractors didn't have cabs and heating and radios and big comfy seats. If it rained you got p155 wet through.

I also remember working outside an old nissen  hut which served as a barn. Somebody working inside with a tractor with forks on the front forgot  to lower them and we watched the forks come through the roof one by one.😂😂😂😂
