Hi All,

We were given E-Gift Vouchers for the CAMC for Christmas.

How do we use them now with the new booking scheme? What happens to any surplus left on the vouchers after paying for the stay? Do you get vouchers back for the balance?

All I have is a QR code.

Ideas please

Phil

I think asking HQ would give you the definitive answer and is possibly the best option.

Evening

Further on from brue's sound info. here's some from a site perspective. If you come in to pay using a digital voucher we have a scanner for you qr code. We will check the worth and take the required / requested amount. Any remaining funds remain on that qr code which will be relayed to you. It's a good scheme and is pretty quick to administer.

Just as an extra bit of info  type "e gift vouchers" into the search box top right and all the info is there.

According to paragraph 4 of "How to pay" in the T&C's , you can use digital vouchers to make a booking direct with a site . You can't . My wife just tried to book a break at Bearsted only to be told that the sites don't have the facilities to take a deposit via vouchers,  so you still have to go through the online booking system . Kind of defeats the idea of vouchers.

I think I read that vouchers can't be used for  deposits Trellis so that's probably why they couldn't process them.

Bookings with a voucher can be used to make a booking via the call centre. Although sites can take a booking if required for stays on the day, we have to make people aware that we only have a normal phone line which doesn't have the same level of security as the phones at the call centre so taking payment details has an element of risk.

As mentioned earlier payment by voucher is easily done when on site. I'm sure everyone appreciates the levels of security the club has to achieve so I don't think the idea of having vouchers is any kind of defeat.

JK , whilst excepting your first paragraph totally my gripe is that the clubs T&C's  do not explain this and give the impression that you can book , which clearly you can't  As it is my wife is temporarily out of pocket to the tune of £25 until we reach the site , as the warden has said he can re_emburse the deposit back onto the voucher...
