Now we are members of a new club will the regulations on pitching be changed to allow motorhomes to pitch with rear quarter next to the post? Generally we do have awnings but not an additional vehicle.

You can park rear end to the post or cab end to the post as long as your vehicle is to the right of it (on majority of sites) that has been the way for many years now.

We tend to park which ever is the most private/quiet either that or as we are nose down with our m/h if only staying for 1 night we park against the slope so we don't have to use ramps.

If in doubt ask the wardens they are the best to give guidance.

Hi

Until further notice it will still be rear offside or front nearside to the pitch marker.

Adequate fire spacing of 6 meters between walls of vans and 3 meters between peripherals has always been a requirement on club sites for obvious reasons. A rebranding from the club doesn't change that at all.

I have unfortunately experienced in the UK and abroad outfits that have caught fire. Not something I wish to see on a site I run sorry and something I will never be complacent on.

Seen a van on fire once and I was shocked how fast it spread.

Fortunately the owner got the gas bottle out. An exploding gas cylinder would take out units a lot further than 6 metres away.

An exploding gas cylinder would take out the site but fortunately they are strong enough to survive as the fire dies out fairly quickly on caravans and motorhomes . They just disappear in minutes.m

The most important thing is that the recommended minimum fire breaks are at least maintained. Any pitching which increases the fire break and thus reduces speed of potential fire sread is a bonus. Anything which increases speed of possible spread is plain silly for you and your neighbours!

AD

If you think the CAMC pitches are cramped try a C&CC pitch. The pitches and spacings are significantly smaller on most C&CC sites.
