Where were you 12 months ago to the day

During this time of the lockdown we keep looking at photos to remind us of where we were "on this date".

!2 months ago today we were in our RV in Siskiyou National Forest Oregon. We had come about 2 miles up the track to find it blocked by a tree. frown There had been nowhere to turn around before this so we had to go on to find a place for the night and to turn around. We had information that there was camping spots on this track. Normally i would have gone up and checked it out on our scooter that we carried on a rear rack. Being very tired and relying on information we had I had not frown We managed tojust get past going uphill but the back end of the RV  slid into the bank.

The photos show us on the way back down  knowing we only had one chance, as if we reversed we would slide again. The big worry is the air conditioning unit on the roof which is the highest point. The root of the tree was on the high side up the steep embankment and we managed to raise the lower end just enough and use our sturdy step ladder to prop it up a little higher. We managed to get back down OK and no damage anywhere to the vehiclesmile

So what were you up to 12 months ago?

We had the van on the drive ready for our stay at a lovely CL called Goatfell Farm just outside Ashbourne (via the C&CC site at Wolverley). It was a base for the Setter Rescue walk at Matlock - this year's event would have been on Sunday, another charity event to fall victim to the present crisis. frown

Good advice for people. We had a saw with us but the root of the tree was still secure uphill a long way. As we cut it would have meant falling onto the track :) Needing many cuts and sections to move so we went for this option first.

Visiting OH in hospital on the respiratory ward. Developed pneumonia after getting out 10 days before our son's wedding, following 3 months in hospital - heart attack, triple bypass, stroke then end of life care 😱😢😢. Still here to tell the tale 😉

Feel that I'm on second year of lockdown 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sorry to bring the mood down!
