Apologies to none lovers of football, but I enjoy it, and still get a thrill going to live matches. We are, for a few reasons, fans of Middlesbrough FC. Not a fashionable club, currently struggling in the Championship. Consequently, every so often we pinch ourselves and go back a few years and relive a glory day:
Last match of the season, staying up, so a good day with nothing to worry about. Not so opponents, none other than a pre Saudi Manchester City. Sven Goran Eriksson's last match in charge. Now Boro supporters can put together a great tune and have the stadium rocking with laughter, apart from the "you're getting sacked in the morning" some wag had put together this little ditty: (slightly censored!)
Sven, Sven, wherever you may be
You are the boss of Man City
You can love my wife
On our settee
If City win the cup at Wembley!"
Cue the whole stadium, including Sven, rolling with laughter. A very special day as Boro stuffed City 9:1!
Any fans out there with similar football wit?
