After a good win for France against NZ last night, there have been relatively easy victories for Ireland, Italy and Australia today. This evening's game was supposed to be a close match. With England's Tom Curry being given a red card within the first 5 minutes it looked as if they were up against it, however George Ford has worked his magic and with 27 points sunk the Pumas. What a victory!!v

The quarter finals present some very interesting matchups, the pick I suspect will be France against the Springboks.

Indeed, each quarter final will be a Northern V Southern hemisphere game. Which will come out on top of the world?🌍

Well, one up to the Southern Hemisphere so far. Wales shot themselves in the foot today, giving away so many penalties and spilling the ball so often. Argentina played well too and deserved the victory.

Off to watch Ireland/NZ now which should be another close matchup.

Well -- very close but another poor result for the home nations. Come On England!!

Yup England need to put Fiji to bed if we are to have a home nation to shout for going forward. Wales and Ireland should have won their games, but both splendid games some terrific rugby towards the end of the Ireland game. Come On England

Cracking games both, Argentina looked the better measured team and that All Black defence was phenomenal, in the last 10mins Ireland threw everything at it but it remained intact.
Now England must overcome that Fijian do or die spirit. As for France, I hope they roll on but in the hope they are not the only NH team in the semis. I’d take a draw over this weekend’s results in that NvS ‘competition’

Sorry to rain on their parade, but I do think England will be the dullest of the semi finalists, whoever wins the final quarter tonight. They have been fortunate to be drawn in the weakest group (wasn't it getting on for 2 years ago?) and some of their tactics have been shocking. I'm fed up of caterpillar rucks, box kicking and, today "gamesmanship" in running down the clock at every opportunity. And something should be done about Owen Farrell's constant haranguing of the referee. frown

The best you can say is that they haven't been beaten by the mighty Afghanistan! surprised

Looks like the final may well be a repeat of the opening game and the way the All Black's have come on strong during the tournament who would back against them?

Your comments Moulesy are nonsense (apart from caterpillar rucks - which are being banned soon) and you obviously don't understand the game of Union. The reason for kicking is for territory and inviting the kick and chase tactic. Last weekend we were treated to 4 magnificent games of rugby - the likes of which will probably never be seen again. It's because of the introduction of League players and coaches into the Union code that high tackling has become prevalent, dangerous and requiring a change in the laws - Union players being, in general, bigger, taller and stronger. Fact.

Instead of trying to 'rubbish' the game, try (excuse the pun) embracing it and understanding it. Yes, the All Blacks look strong, so too the 'Boks and it will take and enormous effort for both England and Argentina to make the final.

cruised thru, great weekend of Rugby, not going to be easy but England were written off before the tournament began and look where we are now

"but I do think England will be the dullest of the semi finalists, whoever wins the final quarter tonight"

cant agree with this having watched every second, i thought they put in a brilliant performance, after all everybody thought Fiji would be a walk over but they put in a brilliant performance and tested England to the last second.

I am traditionally a soccer person but now finding rugby much more exciting than watching £2million a week duffers kicking a gas bag round a field for 90 minutes, and dont mention time wasting when it comes to soccer surprised
