Sub 2hr marathon distance.

Absolutely, just brilliant!

Like Dr Roger Bannister's Four Minute Mile it was a determined attempt, with several pace makers apparently, so won't go down as a 'record' but will stand for all time as the First  sub 2 hour marathon . The upshot, almost certainly, will be that times for real full blooded races will start dropping now the psychological barrier has gone ! Never the less I still think I'd rather do 26 odd miles in my Jazz 'cos there's a cuppa and a foot massage available any time I feel like one  !!

And today the Ladies Marathon record fell to Brigid Kosgei of Kenya who bettered Paula Radcliffe's 16 year old World Best time.
