I am intrigued by that misbehaving horse, Saint Boy. (Oh, the irony in that name) What caught my eye was the bridle and bit it was wearing. It’s a very complex combination, primarily a Gag I think.

We've enjoyed watching this years Olympics we seem to have missed out on some of the action though. Not sure if its us but we often only seem to catch bits of an event rather than the whole thing.

The German female rider and horse were difficult viewing, like others cannot figure why she chose that horse, it certainly didn't like the  German style of riding. I agree with TDA they know who's on their back and respond accordingly. My horse would play up OH but not me, she was all innocent when I was on top, definitely had the look ' not me Mum it was him' laughinglaughinglaughing

The new events are proving good ones for the team GB long may it last.

Another MP Gold🤩 Cracking performance. I have always enjoyed MP, a contrived event, but so many different skills and sports to master. Apparently it’s changing for next Olympics, but not sure how.

It seems that we are doing better with the unexpected successes than the usual bankers. Medals in weigh lifting, modern pentathlon, pole vault, "trick"cycling, etc. Just need the track cyclist to add a couple more tomorrow to ensure a very successful olympics.

Is this the horse that the German  Official said the rider should get more physical with as well as being the one that he is alleged to have 'punched violently' resulting in the coaches official accreditation being removed ??

Yes Brian. The German official was removed, endorsed by the German team themselves in an interview today. It wasn’t in the pool of horses used by today’s men, although the one ridden by our Women’s Gold Medal winner was. Luckily, Joe Cheung drew the same horse!

It’s not unusual for horses in MP to apparently misbehave. Some athletes just don’t have the knack of being able to get on anything, and all horses can be a little bit unpredictable, even on the rare occasion top class show jumpers. From what I have read, Saint Boy was badly wound up by a previous athlete, the poor German woman got on him and things went from bad to worse. I would have gone for the reserve horse, at least it might have behaved better, even if it didn’t jump well. Being able to get on with, and keep an unknown horse calm, is part of the competition.

Thanks, TDA,  its a v-e-r-y  long time since I got on a horse and even in those days they used to trim the 'feathering' from the legs before I arrived --  Well they didn't have a Suffolk Punch wink

Well it seems to be all over bar the shouting!! Very successful Olympics for Team GB with 22 Gold medals and 65 in total so well done everyone. I thought it would be difficult to get anywhere near what we achieved in London and Rio but fortunately I have been proved wrong and we have seen some exciting new talent, well supported by the veterans of several Olympics. Not long to Paris in 2024!!!

An excellent Games. We haven’t been watching much live this time, but still enjoyed it. I think a few other nations have had a good Games as well, particularly Italy. Good to see some medals going anywhere but the usual place. Lots of fourth placings, that bodes well for the future. Well done, all those involved 👏👏👏
