I can't see the original sticky so will start a new thread.  Saw nearly 30,000 knot on Breydon Water yesterday.  Great weekend at Minsmere, Otter, Kingfishers, Bitterns, lots of Marsh Harriers

I lost a post on here this morning. It was about our regular Fieldfare visitor. We don't know if it's the same one over recent years but he or she is usually alone and territorial. Loves the apples we put out. The main flock can be heard but this one obviously peels off! The photo I took today isn't very good but zooming in shows him and "his apples"   a bit more.

Just about to go out for a short walk and noticed in our neighbour's Plane a large brown bird so got the bins out only to find it was a juvenile Goshawk which stayed around for awhile checking some local domestic pigeons flying around but no success, it got mobbed by 3 Magpies as usual and then as I was coming back from the village I saw it again very close flying through some local conifers and heard the crows calling out at it then it disappeared, so will it may this area its area time will tell. A lovely sunny day and blue skies.

A.D ....,that is early, they will do well to survive. I have seen the odd early insects in flight, but despite the relatively mild Winter so far no early Bird life.

House Sparrow chicks in the garden today. Hope their parents know what they are doing.

Interesting, there was a bit on Winterwatch this week about the effects on wildlife of climate change which human activity is causing. Never seen sparrow chicks in February let alone Mid January.
