I have just been doing some Tree work, thankfully pruning not Felling. A Greenfinch was giving me Earache not 2 feet from me. Alarms bells in my head, hung the Loppers, scabbarded the Saw. I found a nest of 3 Chicks. Feathered, but with Gape still big & yellow-3/4 weeks at best. It is nearly September. The rest of the Avian World are still on Holiday building their reserves up for the Winter & regaining condition. I cannot ever remember Chicks this late in the year. The next week will be warm & dry here-they may fledge yet, hopefully. Never too old to learn, I usually put Tree work off until September for the very reason of nesting Birds.
