lambing time again

Out walking on the fells today and most dogs off lead. Signs say " lambing time keep your dog on a lead" but most folk ignore it.The usual excuse is "my dog is under control" One toy spaniel type thing chasing pregnant ewes. One farmer has tried "dogs chasing sheep will be shot" but that seems to aggravate some people and it gets kicked down . One has tried " 4 lambs killed by dogs don't make it five" but that is too subtle for many dog owners. Obviously these are not CC members but could you pass the message on to your doggy mates
