Nuthatches as Neighbours!

We woke up this morning after our first night in cottage on Dartmoor, plenty of birds around, so I put some bread crusts out in feeders until we get to shops for bird food. We were inundated with all sorts of songbirds, the usual suspects like dunnocks, great/blue/coal tits, robins etc.... But highlight was a pair of nuthatches that seemed totally unphased at us and our two Labs only six feet away. They are gorgeous birds, so acrobatic and fascinating to watch. Heard green woodpeckers as well. Nuthatches are in my top 10 of British birds, so a great start to holiday!
