I love all birds, but am particularly fond of the robin. I love to see them flitting about the garden.

You can imagine my horror to discover that Natural England have recommended that the government issue a general licence to kill Robins and destroy their eggs and nests by the public. It appears Natural England have decided that Robins threaten the public safety and are a health hazard. As no records require to be kept, who will know how many poor birds have been destroyed over a given time?. And it is not only Robins. Pied Wagtails and Starlings are being considered for destruction.
