Sparrows

There's a very good article in today's"i" newspaper regarding the lack of our House Sparrow in London, comparing it with plenty of sightings in Paris. The Independent and i have put up a £5,000 reward for any scientific proof of the reasons why the sparrow has declined in London.

When we moved into our present house over 30 years ago we had a small colony in our garden. Now we never see one. A small colony still exists in our village. There's been no realchange to habitat over the last 30 years so I wonder why we've lost ours. Before you ask "No" I'm not offering a reward just interested to see if the sparrow is in decline in your area.
