Hi everyone, we've just joined The Caravan Club :)  My partner and I enjoy playing guitar (amongst other instruments ) and singing and wondered if anyone knew of sites that are close to pubs that we could go and play in. We are based in the North west so for short weekend trips probably more northly would be better suited thanks for any help :)

You are not getting much response. Try adding a Moog synthesizer and see if that gets them going.😇

Does this help, UKSessions.

We have quite a lot of sessions in pubs and halls in the SW, I think there are plenty out there if you know where to look. The link I've given looks a bit limited but it's a start. Try jam sessions too.

Our daughter and friends do quite a bit locally so there must be plenty out there.

You could try CMC weekend rallies. Often there is entertainment on the rally field provided by the ralliers themselves.

JJ, wherever you go, you need to arrange things with the landlord in advance rather than just turning up and expecting to play.

Although there are many sessions in pubs and elsewhere, as others have said, many licensees are unwilling to risk inviting problems with officialdom by allowing entertainment. This is due to current regulations and licensing requirements, the performing rights act etc. Unless things have changed recently, only Morris teams are exempt from the regs.

Also, many landlords put the wishes of the majority of their regular customers above those of casual musicians. A sign of the times, I'm afraid.

Jinyjo, I had a chat with my fiddle playing daughter today and she suggested you search on line in the areas you fancy (I'm sure you know that already) but I found another site for anyone visiting the south west.

I expect there are lots out there in the areas you want, have a good time with your music! smile
