Kitesurfing

A bit late, but I've just read the article in the April issue about kitesurfing and had to chip in with a comment. I live near Southport and moved here to be near the beach in Ainsdale where it is fantastic for kitesurfing for the other half. During 'the season' visitors have to pay to park on the beach but it's usually free after 5pm. The beach is miles long and the prevailing wind is westerly making it a very safe place to kite. For those who visit from further away, the club site at Southport is great and only a 5 minute drive from the beach. If you book your trip to kite and there's no wind, there's plenty of other things to do and places to visit nearby either by car or on our very frequent and cheap public transport.

Sounds lovely totally agree about lots to do around the area. We were amazed at the reasonableness of the trains, add a further 10p to include buses! Last year about £5 or £6 for all day right from Southport to Chester and the Wirral 😲😲. A cheap day return from our city to London £17 plus extra past Liverpool Street restricted travelling times too. Approximately 35 minutes to Liverpool Street.  ðŸ˜‰ plus London prices when you arrive 😂😂. Hoping to revisit before long as didn' manage everything in a week. Southport looks very sad 😢 but site is good and lovely large park nextdoor if you don't want the beach.
