I recently posted on the Easter availability thread regarding having to cancel a booking at Chatsworth CMC because our rescue westie was very ill & was asked to update a number of members from the forum who had shown an interest in his wellbeing , thank you.👍

We think he's around 13 and had a severe internal infection that appears to be getting better with new medication although he still retains some loss of rear leg mobility , but with gentle short walks the vet thinks it will improve.

Norfolk is still looking good in June & he should be able to enjoy his much loved walks on Brancaster beach but will be shortened.

We are away at Carsington Water early May for our first of many planned this year...... hopefully we can enjoy them all..... together. 🐕👫

A big thank you to everyone that's posted the lovely comments about Archie, he was one in a million.

He was a rescue from a puppy farm in Ireland, God only knows what his first 3 years must have been like before he came to us.

He was my wife's constant companion for the last 9 years, he learned to trust &  love her &  of course she loved him to bits, wherever she was her shadow wasn't far away.

I was someone he was always wary of, but he always expected me to feed him, we assumed that perhaps in his early years on the puppy farm he had been mistreated by a man.

But of late he did trust me, &  we had a lovely friendship this last few years of his life.

For everyone of us that have pets, the loss of every single one is heartbreaking, they give us so much joy &  laughter during their lifetime with us, it's just extremely sad when we have to say goodbye.

Archie will be our last pet, he joins the list of past friends, Lucky  black /white cat, 3 Cocker spaniels Gemma (Blue roan) Bonnie (Orange roan) & finally Bunty (Black /white Ticked roan) rescue.

We loved them all &  miss them all to this day.

So sorry to hear of your loss compass, it’s very hard. Like us and others, you will have lots of lovely memories to treasure, so hang onto those, and make a fuss of the pets belonging to others where you can.

Our old lad plods along, still plenty of life when the aches and pains let him.

Take care, and good wishes.
