Welcome to all Dog lovers & generally Canine minded Folk. I have started this to enable a Thread to be used-in the Pet section with a title 'I love Dogs' so there will be no problems with attracting the right Posters, and the 'wrong Posters' give it a swerverCool. I am mainly a working Dog Lover, I have had-J/Russells, Retrievers, Lurchers. Currently have 2 White Cockapoo's. Mum & Daughter. Not my kind of Dogs(at first) the OH fell in love with the Breed a year after losing the Retriever. Now I couldn't imagine life without them. You either love Dogs or don't, if you do then life without them really is empty. I feel for the none Dog Folk, not knowing the joys of owning Dogs. But I'm not stupid enough to believe just because I love em everyone should. So if you would like to talk Canine, please be my guestSmile

Oh Redkite, that is just awful, those poor dogs. They will be traumatised if split up, we had to deal with over a year of a very anxious Golden Lab after she was given up to us. I hope someone can take them both, and they find a good home.

We might see them tomorrow Tda as we are picking up an oak tv unit  from the same folk it will go with our other oak furniture, the pictures of them look ok and you can see which one is the 10 years old but they have been looked after.

So sad, Redkite. Fingers crossed they get a good home, and can stay together. It’s a big ask is taking on two dogs, but hopefully someone will. Sad altogether with the divorce, but it’s not uncommon to find dogs ending up needing new homes because of a divorce.

Cartoon of the day……reminds me of a holiday in caravan with friends. We had filled the fridge, forgot to put the safety catch on…….10 minutes later, their Labrador had eaten everything🤣🤣

Rather enjoyed Channel 4’s coverage of Crufts this year. Final line up of dogs was very good, some a bit different to the usual. That was a lovely happy little dog that took the trophy, could well imagine that breed being a very nice family pet in the hands of the right sort of owner. They were all great athletic and healthy looking examples thankfully. I did love the Irish Wolfhound and the Wire Haired Fox Terrier. Poodles have never been my thing really, but away from the ridiculous show clips they are wonderfully athletic dogs. I could have happily owned every one last night😁

Yes, bit too big for our little MH🤣 We once stayed on a CL near Bamburgh with caravan and our three Airedales. Next door van had two Irish Wolfhounds, not quite sure where they slept🤣

For all those that have owned a dog and have finally had to say the last goodbye I think this sums up all ones feelings well.

Very poignant nellie, now going thru all the pro's and con's as to whether we should take on another dog, have to say the house is very quiet without Rufs, and i am sure when we go away in the caravan next week it is going to be very strange even if i did used to curse at having to get out of bed at 0600hrs to do the necessary, however, my OH's stroke has left her a little bit unsteady on her feet, so frightened that if the dog should pull she would be over, and i know you cannot put money on the friendship a dog gives, but Ruf's was costing us £150 approx per month, but early days yet laughing, no we are not having a handbag dog yell

Hi all, I'm very sad to let you know that we had to part with our lovely Lurcher Tess last Monday. Unfortunately a cancerous lump had spread to her organs and we couldn't bear to see her suffering. After seven days we're still getting used to the empty hole she has left in our lives. I was the one who took her for walks and am still going out each morning, in fact walking further than Tess could manage in recent weeks. I'm not contemplating taking another dog on but we have a few dogs within our close family and friends.

All the best to all you dog lovers.
