When think of what we are missing Bella Italia is usually the first thing that comes to mind-view of and from the pitch at last stay

Thanks CY memories of those ferries both sides of the channel.

Will have to go through our photos and post them later.

Seeing PD's Volvo 850 showed what I considered the perfect extension mirror set up. The spring-loaded ones just clipped on the wheel arch in seconds, gave a good view, didn't vibrate and weren't the silly prices that mirrors are these days.

I think they are now  illegal CY? I certainly preferred them and never used anything else. The photograph was taken along side Loch Eriboll and if I remember correctly there is a plaque somewhere along the road commemorating the mass gathering and surrender of German U-Boats in the loch.

I googled it and the story is >here<

I hope they are not illegal!

We always had that type and bought a set, from  Volvo, for our 2007 XC90.  Still use them on the Touareg.

K, I just have it in the back of my mind that this is so. Definitely all extension mirrors now have to be approved for use and should carry an "e" mark to signify this. I'm pretty sure you can no longer buy mudguard mounting mirrors in the EU any more.
