Coiled cable to replace damaged cable

I recently damaged the caravan to car electric cable on my van. I have since neatly joined it back using block cnnectors and heat covering the repair with a length of heat shrink. However I have seen other vans with a coiled cable so I have purchased one on Amazon. This coiled cable would fit perfect however the wires are not the same gauge as the wire in the cable, however when I look at the wires used on the car these aren't either. The ones I am concerned about are the permanent and switched live/return which are 2.5mm in the cable, but not from the car. Has anyone fitted one of these, it cerainly looks a much neater job, but is it recommended.
