Hi everyone,

Following the very popular Coronavirus Concerns discussion, I have created this discussion to continue conversation around the Coronavirus where you can discuss with each other and share updates and concerns.

However, we do request that conversations and comments about politics are not posted as this inadvertently leads to disagreements and arguments as we have seen in previous discussions where we have needed to moderate posts. Please can you keep your conversation free from politics friendly and in the spirit of the community. A reminder of the Guidelines below:

In our area it wasnt the safety of staff that was the big issue, although i am sure it was a consideration, it was trying to balance the work force and direct them into areas they deemed to be the most in need of services such as waste collection door to door and normal street bins and our council did a sterling job.

Some public toilets are now open as are some car parks, but the height barriers have remained in place on most and the slip ways are closed.

If a stricter cleaning regime has to be introduced on sites and the staff are to wear more efficient ppe, how are sites with only 2 wardens going to cope with the extra work load, and the coronavirus is not going to go away any time soon so it would have to be a cleaning regime designed for the long haul.

en-suite pitches are already available in the UK and more so in Franceundecided

In all honesty we are responsible for our own safety, if we choose to use a 3rd party convenience it is down to us. MM has worked & has used 3rd party toilets. Iโ€™ve used store toilets. If sites open itโ€™s up to each individual to call it๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป.

well you clean your own whilst on the pitch and then when you leave a cleaner comes along to give it a deep clean, not rocket science laughing Most have a toilet/shower/sink and small kitchen area, something like this would also help with social distancing , give the curtain twitchers less to observe also as there would be less movement around the site,

Is anyone else monitoring Covid case in their area? Local here, over the past week they have been increasing. It would be interesting to know what is happening locally in other areas.

Good for them but are you talking toured only sites?or the very large sites you seem to use ,when you book  your reserved pitch,

I think in this country on those multipurpose type large sites they can afford to do the same with their multiple income streamswink

Falling, but slowly, in Wiltshire, PD, and I believe much of the increase in R in the South West was down to the incident at Weston-super-Mare hospital.

Speculation about what is going to happen is pointless, I guess,  but I was disappointed by the Business Minister's non-answer to the question about caravan sites last night. It would have been a good opportunity to at least let folk know what dialogue was being had with clubs and site organisations.

Simon Calder was asked a similar question on ITV's coronavirus Q&A programme on Monday night and said he was at a loss to explain the continuing reluctance to discuss opening self contained accommodation such as cottages and static vans. He also said he'd been lobbying hard for that to change.

But non-answers seem to be the order of the day on the daily briefings just now and maybe not surprisingly given the debacle overy primary school reopening.
