Including blue hose in purifying water system

Like most of us I regularly use a proprietary purifying solution to clean my van's interior water system. I fill the water container with the solution, pump it through the system and usually leave for 24 hrs. However I make use of service pitches and this entails connecting a length of blue flexible hose from the tap to the water container. It has niggled me for ages and I've racked my brains but can't think of how to include this hose as part of the disinfecting system. Any suggestions? Does it matter?
