Silver Dream? Or just a place to dream?

There seem to be quite a few small 'novelty' caravans on the market these days, but the Airstream T@B, featured in the August issue of the Club magazine made me wonder about the true practicality of these little homes on wheels. Pretty, yes (if you like that sort of thing) but what can you actually do in one of these 'style icon' vans? Moving around whlst standing up straight woiuld seem to be a non-starter and from the photos, sitting down could get very uncomfortable pretty quickly. Sleeping might be OK, unless you're next to the window where sitting up might prove painful if you do it too quickly. Maybe the most comfortable place to relax is in the loo? It's no featherweight either - an MRO of 1000kg is more than my Elddis Avante 475! But surely the big turn-off is the price! £15K for a base model is a crazy price to charge for something that doesn't even have a draining board? Nick Harding joked about club members liking their 'white boxes', but just take a look at the litlle Lunar Venus in the July issue. Not a future icon, perhaps, but at a tad under £11K (Yes I realise it doesn't have a draining board, either!) doesn't it make a whole lot more sense?
