This week we're celebrating the 37th Towcar of the Year Awards. We've seen amazing classic cars over the years so we've created #TCOYallstars to find the ultimate 1980's and 1990's champions. Over the next few days I will be posting 2 cars. Like the post with your favourite and/or comment with your memories of the cars.

If you're on Facebook you can also vote on the Caravan and Motorhome Club page.

The Cavalier 2.0i 4x4

I had one of these and towed all over Europe with it. If I recall correctly it had the SRi engine in it. I don't recall being overwhelmed by it but it was a competent towcar.

The Vauxhall Senator 3.0i

Best car I've ever had .... especially the later 24 valve. IIRC when they had it the banked track they took it up to around 110mph

Not the best of 4x4 systems .... most had the fuse for the part time removed until Vauxhall could come up with a fix

Had two Cavaliers, not the 4x4 type though, and they were good tow cars. The Senator would have been better but I had a company car and the budget did not include them.

Today's towcar of the year winners have similar top speeds and pitch appeal scores, but which would have been your preference? Like your favourite and share your memories of these cars.
