Changing your e-mail address

Be warned if you need to change your e-mail address, there are consequences.

I attempted to update mine this weekend but the system would not let me. Following a phone call today, I was informed of technical issues on the website [sounds familiar] that it was not possible to do this on line. I was offered the opportunity for staff to make the change but warned of the knock on effects. Personal data, bookings etc would be safeguarded, but any Club Together posts would be lost.

I was advised that the technical issue was being looked into and would hopefully be resolved soon as the situation has been known about for several months.

Could this be another reason for posts being Deleted User?

I think it's more likely your login would be lost and you'd have to be approved as a new member which, despite the official line being you only need to make 3 posts to achieve approval, can in reality take several weeks unless Ro kindly intervenes.

Colin

There are posts on this forum that are years old and from people who haven't been members for many years so I don't think changing an email address would have that sort of impact? There might be a wider impact because your email is not only used to access this forum but also how the Club communicate with you. When joining Club Together its probably a good idea to use something like a Gmail address so if you change internet suppliers you don't need to change your email. BTW, Deleted User posts nothing to do with making changes to your profilewink

I recently changed my email address. Probably about two to three months ago.  It has been an interesting experience trying to work out all the people and organisations you need to contact. They all have different ways of doing this. Some I am still struggling with!
As for the CAMC I too was unable to update through my profile, despite the facility being there. I just emailed them, it was changed with the apology that it was a technical issue to be resolved. I needed to reset my login. I changed my password, but am not sure that was absolutely necessary. Then everything was fine. No problems with CT. No idea if old posts disappeared, haven’t looked. Didn’t appear to need to register as a new user. Don’t have any club bookings, so can’t comment on that.

I'll give it a couple on months and then try again. If all I've said gets lost then it's no big worry, well that's what Mrs eribaMotters says as she takes no notice of what I say most of the time.
