Communications Preferences

It would appear that this function, which was reported as not working recently is still not working. For some like me who have changed preferences to receive updates and emails nothing appears to be functioning. For instance, did the e mails regarding price increaseas go out to all who have opted in? If so there maybe many like me who are missing out. If this preference isn't working correctly or opting out is chosen where are the updates on the main web site for all to see?

I guess the proof you are getting them is if you receive the monthly news shots. However, they are nothing to write home about unless you like reading about the Clubs' services every month. After a cursory glance they go in my delete bin. I wished they would restrict these mail shots to genuine news. Its no wonder some members didn't/don't want mail shots.

Just for information I have today received the June Members offer email.

PS Just looked at my own communication preferences and I have nothing ticked which means I get everything!

We have everything as well.  I think with something like the CC, which we use a lot, this is the best option. It’s easy enough to bin anything we aren’t interested in. It’s just a shame they haven’t got round to sending something about starting taking deposits and delay in releasing June 23. Just a thought, I assume surface type selection will start on the same date? I believe that was the original intention.

I am not really sure why people are bothered by receiving the odd email from the Club , even if it was a couple of times a week. Most of the emails I receive (from all recipients) go into the recycling bin but there are times when an odd email is really useful. I don't find sorting through 10/20 emails a day particularly daunting! So the odd one from the Club, probably no more than a couple a week, is going to cause me a problem.

Do you still get requests for comments about your CAMC site stays David? Originally I found this was a good way to give feedback but I stopped  receiving them along with everything else. We get a lot of emails every day and I signed out of CAMC communications to avoid adding to the pile. However, out of interest and hoping to hear updates about the new system I signed in again but along with others have not received anything. I also find reminders about site stays useful and receive them from the other club. Are these reminders sent out with CAMC too?

From memory these are the sort of emails I get from the Club:-

General offers

Reminders of upcoming site visits

News Updates

Doesn't seem to happen for every site visit but I regularly get asked to complete a survey on my visit.

Obviously confirmation of bookings but these are probably outside the remit of general preferences?

I cannot remember ever looking at my communication preferences before, but I might have done, I suppose, when I re-joined the club, after some years out, in 2010.

Anyway, I just looked at them and there were several criteria where I had not opted out, but in respect of which I have never had any communications. The only communications I get are booking acknowledgements and those rather annoying "You'll be in before you know it" emails (the title of these always struck me as bizarre) or, more recently it seems, "A Helpful Reminder About Your Trip", which come much earlier - too early really and are just irritating. I don't need either. I do not forget my bookings and I always check stuff like earliest arrival times (except I know these are now all the same) before I leave. I did receive emails about the price increases for bookings that I had made, which is good.

My preferences showed that I had opted out of the monthly club magazine, but I have been receiving it every month.

I have made amendments, opting out of everything except club and UK site surveys and reviews, and the club magazine. Perhaps now the magazine will stop coming! surprised
