Good move.

I must say it was a pleasant change to see the amended Essential Maintenance page last night. Somebody has put some thought into this as it is much more informative and useful than the previous version which left us knowing nothing. We were told the site would be back by 6am which is far better than being left without any clue as to the down time. As it turned out, the site was up and running by midnight.

I hope I don't regret saying this, but the site seems to be running a lot better / faster since it came back.  The process of logging in and going to 'Discussions' seemed to take an age before but it's much better now.

I believe in giving praise where it’s due but I will also criticise silly and inappropriate actions. Last night, Wednesday 14 February, exactly the same banner appeared while the site was down for maintenance. How ridiculous!

I noticed that too last night, had to look twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things!! You couldn't came it up, really. Another case of the left hand not being in tune with the right one!

I can be very critical of the club but I don’t think this error is left hand not knowing what right is doing. I found it mildly amusing and it is correct to point out the error. However I do think it is sloppy more than anything with some one just not changing the date. Given that this is only the second time, I believe, they have managed to put up a time element to the maintenance down time, I think we should give them a break. Only this time, mind!!

If it’s not accurate, there is no point at all in putting the banner on display as it is meaningless or misleading. I think it is indicative of something much deeper than you suggest, Hja.
