Any idea how to permanently get rid of this irritating orange pop up box (have a question) on the bottom left of my screen.  Seems to have started this morning.

Thatโ€™s how it was on my phone this morning but at least itโ€™s now vanished from the forum pages. If yours is still there, JR, try refreshing the page and/or clearing your cache.

And no prob๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป.

Yes, it's gone from this forum, but it's still on the website......which is why I asked the question under Club membership 'Annoying Widget 2' (from which you kindly directed me here)

So how long do we have to put up with the annoying orange banner which just replies to questions any normal human being can find the answers to under the help guide at the top of the club site.

Or is this for the 'new breed of campers, whatever they may look like' as per the Chairman's remarks when the name changed? You know the type, those who are not from this Earth.........???

I guess that's the $1,000,000 question, JR, but it gives folk something to  talk about so it’s not a complete waste of space.wink

You can reduce it down to a very small box with just one click by the way.

I used to think some of the questions asked were blindingly obvious to most folks, but not so sure nowadays. There are some wonderfully innocent and unworldly folks around, often totally taken aback when something horrible or unexpected happens to them. Talking generally here, not just the weird world of living in a box!laughing

The annoying 'Ask a Question' pop up is still on the CL search, and still annoying!!!!!!  Please delete it.

1st choose, get rid of the ruddy thing completely! It's a complete & utter pain in the rectum!!

If that's not possible because some plonker thinks it's the most wonderful thing since sliced bread (I feel sorry for them if that's the case) why can't it be used for visitors to the site but GOES AWAY WHEN MEMBERS ARE LOGGED IN!

I logged on tio Discussions for the first time since earlier this morning and it appeared initially. I ignored it and it has gone away, at least from the discussion pages I am viewing.

Out of interest - the most frequently asked questions (so far) are -

  1. I'm not a member, how do I pay for my booking?
  2. Where can I find my membership number?
  3. How do I order a replacement membership card?
  4. How do I join the club?
  5. Do you offer seasonal pitches?

- out of the (almost) 600 different questions asked since 8am this morning - and yes, there have been lots of silly ones too.

Oh and takethedogalong - we are testing a new bit of code that should keep that question box small as you move around the site (keep your fingers crossed everyone)!

FA, if you’re really a staff member you need to get your avatar banner in place otherwise we're going to think you're winding us up. So far, you’re doing well.tongue-out

If you’re real though, I reckon you're in for a roasting from certain quarterssurprised

I tried asking the system "Who is FinkAngel, a staff member or a troll?" and it didn't recognise the question. How rubbish is that?

I am glad they have removed this pop up from both Discussions and the Story Section. I imagine this is a replacement for the previous little dialogue box that had the same function that used to appear on the right hand side of the screen with a picture of a young lady on it on some sections of the website? It would be interesting to know a little more about how it works.  Perhaps the colouring could be toned down a bit. I think its a useful function to have on a website as often you can get an answer more or less straight away. It could be an alternative for the Facebook averse members?
