You don't say which ferry route you might take. I have booked two ferry crossings Newhaven-Dieppe for this summer. The first is a "toe in the water" 5 days staying local to Dieppe last week in July. The seconds is a fortnight heading for Switzerland and Lake Como.

I have not booked sites for the latter but I have booked two sites for my 5 day stay which may interest you:

I then move to Le Crotoy for a couple of days. Le Crotoy has the only south facing beach on the Somme. It is about 50 miles from Dieppe.  First a glossy advertising link for Le Crotoy:

Le Crotoy is equally accessible from Dieppe or Calais.

I struggled slightly to find a site with vacancies for end of July at Le Crotoy but booked the site below as the third attempt to find one:

Some of the sites at Le Crotoy are large and will be heaving with young families though that may not impact you in June. I may have fallen on my feet with this smaller site for my July stay.

I use Newhaven-Dieppe (a) because headlines about delays at Dover scare me and (b) because it seems the cheapest crossing by far. If you are 60 or over you get a full 20% discount off the online price on the total booking but to do that you have to ring to book - +44330 587 8787  weekdays.

Lisa, If you are serious ….your easiest plan is to drive from Gloucester to Poole, take a ferry from Poole to Cherbourg, and all the things on your wish list are along the coast within just a few miles,  or even a few minutes, of your arrival there. But  are you serious or is it just a pipe dream?
