Thank you for accepting me into the forum smile

I am here to research and learn as I am very much at the start of my touring life.  My own life took quite a change of course in 2018 (health wise) coupled with another fairly hefty jolt earlier this year has brought me more and more to the realisation that life is too short.  I won't bore you with the details here, but have nothing to hide either, so if it is of interest etc, I will happily expand.

I am mostly looking at motorhomes (I think) simply because I have a driveway that could just about accommodate one depending on size.  Storing a caravan at home would be impossible.

Budget is currently nil, however the plan is to learn and change other things in life to hopefully release the relevant funds - the main one being a car that is under-used and on a PCP finance deal.

I'm an ex-PCV licence holder, still hold up to 7.5t with trailer entitlement and have some towing experience albeit well over 20 years past, so I could in theory go down the caravan path, but for the reasons of storage I think a motorhome would be best.

I am not shy about a bit of DIY, and would almost certainly be taking on something that needs a bit of TLC in the first instance.

Very much open to advice and opinions in what will be an evolving story over the next year or two at least.

Glad to see this approved, thank you.

The more I read and research this, the more I am starting to lean toward a caravan, as they seem to offer considerably more value for money and allow the flexibility of having the car for exploring whatever area we choose to visit.

How secure are caravans and awnings if left on a site whilst one trundled off for a bit of exploring?

Are there any sites that rent space to simply park a caravan when not in use?  Maybe I could find one local to me - is that costly?
