Hello I'm new to this forum 🥰

We are just contemplating buying a campervan.

Years ago we had a tourer, as children all my holidays were in a static, and while our daughter was young we camped. So we know the excitement and now we are in our fifties want to do it all again, but in some comfort!

We are looking at buying a 2 or maybe 4 berth campervan with an awning. Are these allowed on site? Any advice would be really helpful, from positives and negatives to type of van.

Thank you !

Hi and welcome to a new world of holidays without the kids.-( I guess.)

Yes, awnings are permitted on sites, as indeed they are for caravans,

Just make sure that when booking a site you do include 'Awning ' as part of your pitch requirements. If in doubt ring the site you want and ask them as to what is available.

Enjoy your freedom!

Hello and welcome. It sure took a long time to get your first post approved.

With regards to type/make/model of van, the choice is enormous. Take a look online and see if you can spot the sort of thing you fancy and visit some dealers where you can see them in real life as it’s the only way to decide if they’re right for you.

Welcome you young things smile  --  get yourselves a couple of relevant magazines, such as MMM  etcetera --  Ideal things to browse thro at home !! only then when you have some idea of what's out there should you stroll round a few decent dealers.  Then go back home, make a couple of hot { or well iced wink }  drinks and  then start again & lay down more, NEW, ground rules.  Easy peasy decisions are only applicable to buying sprouts in ASDA !!

When the world is clear you will find the rest of us out here all grey and lined but happily covered in magazines, adverts and greetings cards from our local ( within 150 mile  !! ) dealers all trying to loosen our wallet strings too   frown.

Best of luck  ,
