Newbie here - hello

Hello, we've had a busy few days. We got our first motorhome on Friday. On Saturday, we threw some stuff and our teen into it and went on our first trip for two nights. laughing

We came back with a list of items we need to buy or take with us next time. A dog seems to be top of the list or perhaps we just picked a very dog-friendly site for our first trip smile

(Don't worry - we know dogs are for life not just for caravan parks. We've been planning a doggy addition to our family for a very long time and it's still probably a year away.)

Looking forward to reading all your tips and advice, and if you see a family waving at every camper or motorhome they pass on the road - that's us!

Hello and welcome.

You did it the right way around in trying before you bought tons of stuff. 👍

Dogs? Wonderful. They love vanning.

Hello and welcome. Love your forum name😁 I like your style as well, just go for it, much prefer things this way rather than lists, and plans, and stressing about too many things. You soon find out what essentials you need, and what is just space/weight clutter🤣 That teen could be on the endangered list in a few years time (only joking of course)

No surprise that we are firmly in the “take a dog along” camp. Personally, I don’t think one is enough, but we are coping at the moment. They do adore touring, in all its shape and forms. Hope you have many enjoyable future trips, and welcome to the forum. 😁

Hi, BPP, and welcome. You will find that many of the essential things you need for touring you will already have at home. There's no need to be buying duplicates just to leave them in your M/H. Enjoy your travels and don't be afraid to ask what may appear to be trivial questions, there are lots of experienced M/H'ers on here who will be only too will to give you sound advice.
