Hi Folks

We are Malc & Karen from Wiltshire.  Just bought ourselves a new to us Chausson Welcome 610, getting married this Thursday and heading off to Italy for our maiden trip on Sunday.

I haven't the faintest idea how anything works in the moho apart from the lights, the cooker and the electric bed.

I'm sure we are crazy but we do love an adventure.

I'll be off to the overseas discussion threads now to figure out all the entry requirements for France, Switzerland and Italy as it all looks darned complicated :-)

Cheers!

Wow!  Good luck with everything.  You have a lot to do over the next few days!  Essential for your trip include insurance (health for you and breakdown for the MH).  If you have not got an EHIC (or whatever they call it's replacement) it is too later now.  If you have no insurance perhaps the only one you can get in time will be the Club's Red Pennant.  If you use Calor Gas - and you might need Propane for if the weather gets cold in the mountains - ensure you leave with a couple of full ones as you cannot exchange them in Europe.  A continental EHU adapter might be useful and are available in UK from any dealer, if you don't have time to get one in UK they are usually available at sites in Europe.  Site books are pretty well essential as there are fewer open later in the season.  Look at the Gov't advice sites for overseas travel for the countries you plan to visit.  If you are planning to just transit Switzerland you can go the toll free route to Italy via Germany, Austria and the Reichen Pass (via Landeck) into Italy

I am full of admiration for your spirit of adventure.  Have a great day on Thursday and a wonderful trip and life together.

P.S. You can give yourself a nice name on this site by going into 'my profile' via the useful info section above.

Ah thank you.  I think we have most of those things in place, we couldn't get any gas bottles locally so have fitted a refillable system which seems the most sensible option.  EHICs are still in date, got the breakdown cover too and just about every adaptor known to man I think :-)

Constantly watching the updates for the various countries and ready to take a diversion if needs be.

What could possibly go wrong? :-)

Congratulations to you both. Have a lovely time. We got married, had a night in a hotel, then took off for three weeks in our tiny tiny camper, complete with huge Rottweiler. Fantastic honeymoon. Quite a while ago now, but we do head back to the same place every now and then👍 Different dogs though.....
