Hello, I m a not so young Nanna, considering buying a tourer and, with the help of my daughter and son in law siting it somewhere for the season. I m not new to caravanning , in deed I have camped, toured, motor homes, caravanned since the age of about five. However gave it all up 20 years ago when I got divorced.

The thing is, I think its in the blood because after being persuaded to caravan in my cousins static and then caravan and tent surprised, with my daughter recently, I want to return.

Its a bit daunting  though, going sort of solo, so I have come here to get back in the game as it were, or something like that.

Welcome to CT StayYoung. I'm sure there are many out there who've had similar ideas and got going again. It's nice to hear you have family back up, no doubt it will be shared experience if you can find the right van. Hope your plans work out. smile

PS I'm sorry to see you posted in October and replies have been slow.

Hello,  Good Evening  and Welcome  to pinch a line from somebody famous !!

Don't worry too much about the Going Solo bit 'cos there are quite a few doing that on here and elsewhere !!Browsing thru these different sections you may very well come across areas giving good advice which may be followed or ignored as the fancy takes you  .  BUT the one thing you must take with you is your sense of HUMOUR  --  I demand a giggle or six every day including tomorrow -- try to do the same  smile

Hope you have not been put off by the ridiculous time it takes for The Caravan Club to approve new posters.  Maybe in the meantime you have decided to tour with your tourer!

6 weeks to approve a new poster? Well done CT!

Hope StayYoung doesn't think we're all as rude as that.

Anyway hope all goes well. There is a section devoted to Solo Tourers a bit further down the front sheet of this forum if you ever find the need to venture out alone.

Good luck with your "new" hobby.

Hi StayYoung - welcome to Club Together and welcome back to touring.  Looks like we might be just down the road from you.  Although our profile says Staffs, we are actually just over the border in N Warks.  Look forward to reading your posts.

David

Oh thank you all, I m not a member so I just thought nothing really, but its great to have all those replies. My aviator is of our early motorhome, dad s really, he let us borrow it as a break from the tent. We were in the camping club for many years, and later the caravan club.

I have been busy and bought a caravan, so now I m committed. The next thing is to decide where to put it, or more accurately to find a season site. I cant expect my son in law to keep towing it at my command surprised, but really I want somewhere that I can connect to within about 1 or 2 hours at the most, for weekends, several days . I m retired but do the school run etc.

So that's why I m here, I hover between this club, the other club and the independents. From experience I would prefer a club site . I would love somewhere in Shropshire or north wales, an easy drive, no motorways and I love the area. So I will continue to search, it is a bit daunting on your own, but I do have backup with a great family .

Thank you for the great welcome kiss
