Truma heating - gas/electric mix

Hi All,

This is my first time using the discussion forum so be gentle with me.

I purchased my first motorhome a few months back, a Swift Escape 614 and have used it several times over the past 3 months or so. I’ve encountered a few teething problems which the dealer has happily rectified, however, it’s due to go back in later this week as whilst away for the weekend last week, the heating stopped working on electric!

The dealer thinks it could be the fuse on the Truma boiler as it’s working fine on Gas.

My question here is, when should I use the heating on Electric only, or Gas only, or Mix? I currently use it on Electric only when on sites but with the weather getting colder, I have been advised to switch over to Mix, some people have even advised me to leave it on Mix all the time. I’d be grateful for your thoughts on this subject as I’m currently very confused.

Thanks

The Diahatsu Fourtrack is not a vehicle is it? Sounds like a sixties car entertainment device before the advent of Eight Track.

One of the best vehicles we have had ,bought new in 1994 2.8 turbo  diesel,4x4 sold it in 2004 when we bought our second motor caravan another well built LV  an Autocruise with air assist suspension, which we did a PX on our Autosleeper panel van conversion for, which depending on our destination and how many of us there were ,shared the towing with the Fourtrack

Excellent vehicles, horrendous on mpg but bullet proof in the Forest, put a mud plugger on each corner & it was a dream. Alas not very utilitarian☹️

There have been several times since selling that we regret it goingcry the one thing that was a little niggle was that it  was only made as a 3door and the two rear folding seats side seats were small
