Virgin trip

Well, that might have got your attention!  Lol

We have recently bought our first caravan and are planning our first trip to a local campsite so we can always pop back if we forget anything.  But I am trying to think of all the things we will need (2 adults and Rebus the dog).

I've got washing up liquid, sponges, dishtowels, soap, toiletries, bin bags.

Anything else we might need that we've missed?

We will be eating out a lot and doing lots of walking to negate the calories.

Thank you

Jane

Batteries, chargers for phones and tablets, tablets of the medication sort, dog tab with mobile number on it, poo bags, security devices, emergency telephone numbers for banks etc., breakfast, milk etc. (farm shops are available), maps, things to do, a list of all items you definitely need to take ( we've forgotten coats and even wallets  and locking the house up on previous outings)

Have you told your car insurer that you have a towbar fitted?

Good luck.

Remember everyone was a Virgin once ( well, except that strumpet at No. 59surprised)

laughing Thanks for the tips.  Hubby is in charge of the IT gadgets.  As for poo bags, I don't think I have a piece of clothing that doesn't have a stash of poo bags in the pockets - that and dog treats.

Thanks for the tips.  We're just hoping we remember to take all the security features and the handbrake off before we try to drive off!

Small first aid kit……human and canine😁 Ours just stay in the outfit, and we replenish as required. Plasters, bandages, lint, TCP/Savlon, painkillers. Doggy one includes a Vetwrap bandage, some Hibiscrub, swabs, plus all our ageing pooch’s meds. We always look out for nearest Vet’s when away somewhere new, thirty odd years of travelling with pets means we have used a few down the years😯

Rebus is a handsome chap, we have the chocolate gene to contend with🤣 Mad, basically.

👍🏻, there’s a Dog lover right there😊. They come out the wash ok too, PS they went in the wash inside every garment with pockets & totally unused. I thought I needed to put that out there😂😂

Bottle opener and tin opener!  Over the years we have developed a long list of things to take or at least to check whether we need them or not.  It is too long to list heresealed  Very wise to go local for your first trip.  Ensure you try everything in the caravan and if you have an awning put it up.  Importantly don't be reluctant to ask for help; you may well find that someone will offer help if they see you struggling putting up the awning.  When we arrive on site after levelling the caravan our order of doing things is - connect electrics, fridge on mains, fill aquaroll and fit wastemaster, turn on hot taps to fill water heater and then turn it on.  Then take a deep breath and put up the awning; however, if it is raining wait until it stops before putting up the awning.  Table/chairs out then have a cup of tea or more likely a glass of beer!

Thanks for all the advice. It is much appreciated.  We're off to Grantown on Spey this week, about an hour from home.  We don't have an awning yet.  We've done a test run of everything on the driveway and yes, I am sure that we will ask and receive help if we need it.

Thanks again.

Enjoy Jane and Iain...  I'd be interested to hear how you get on.  We're taking the caravan to Grantown-on-Spey during this summer.....
